Brendan O’Callaghan serves as the VP of External Affairs, Marketing and Communications.

O’Callaghan has spent his career working in higher education, for both private and public institutions. From 2013 through the end of 2018 he served on University of California President (and former Secretary of Homeland Security and Governor of Arizona) Janet Napolitano’s communications team at the University of California Office of the President. As Associate Director of Executive Communications and Engagement, he created and executed strategic initiatives for President Napolitano, including a UC president’s first-ever trip to California’s North State and multi-year outreach campaigns to high school and community colleges from Eureka and Redding to San Diego and the Inland Empire. Most recently, O’Callaghan served as Director of Public Affairs at Sarah Lawrence College, an elite liberal arts college just outside of New York City. There, he served as the College’s chief communications officer and spokesperson and led Sarah Lawrence’s COVID-19 response. A 5th generation San Franciscan, Brendan, his wife, and their two dogs welcomed their son in January, 2021.
