Ted Lai
VP of Student Services and Success

Ted Lai serves as the Vice President of Student Services and Success of Calbright College. He is a veteran educator and administrator who has worked in K-12 classrooms and district offices in Rosemead, Temple City, and Fullerton. He has also been an adjunct online instructor with California State University, Fullerton, the LA County Office of Education, and Cerritos College. Most recently, he spent nine years serving as an Education Leadership Executive with Apple Inc. supporting innovation and instructional change in institutions across the country. A proponent of Human-Centered Design, Challenge Based Learning, and Futures Thinking, Ted has facilitated discussions and vision planning for a variety of organizations including the California Department of Education, the Hawaii Department of Education, and a K-20 consortium in Oregon that included the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Pomona College and a master’s in educational technology from Azusa Pacific University. He was honored as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2003. He is married and lives in Southern California. He and his wife have two daughters. He and their younger daughter co-host the Asian American History 101 podcast.
