Carmen Drummond serves as the Chief of Staff at Calbright College. She comes to the college after having led a new department at Southern California Edison established to maximize opportunities to engage staff and strengthen internal communications. She was the vice president of communications, marketing, and policy at the Institute for Educational Leadership before joining Southern California Edison. Prior to the Institute for Educational Leadership, Carmen was the chief of staff at the Learning Policy Institute, managing the day-to-day operations and facilitating and supporting the president and CEO’s strategic vision. Previously, Carmen held several roles at the U.S. Department of Education, including her most recent role as chief of staff in the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education. Carmen also served at the U.S. Departments of Labor, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security, and she worked in the U.S. House of Representatives. She holds an M.A. in Political Communication from American University and a B.A. in Political Science and Communication from California State University Fullerton.
